The Foundation Prize Patrol on Dec. 11 awarded $10,359 in grant awards.
Many of the grant award will be used for items to provide hands-on experiences for students. Some examples include sewing machines, a slab roller for ceramics, musical instruments, and Instant Pots.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle, Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston, Board Member Rich Bartow, and Foundation Secretary/Treasurer Pam Steele made the surprise presentations.
Peculiar Elementary School Music Teacher Katie Schork received a grant of $738 to purchase additional musical instruments. Schork joined the presentation virtually (at center). Her grant award is held by Schork's colleagues, Art Teacher Jenny Bullock, left, and Physical Education Teacher Chris Roller, right.
Ray-Pec High School Teacher Cara Hornbeck received a grant of $750 to purchase T-shirts for Special Olympics participants.
Ray-Pec High School Art Teacher Amy Hellums received a grant of $750 to purchase portfolios for art projects.
Ray-Pec High School Art Teacher Ashleigh Easton received a grant of $750 to purchase a slab roller for ceramic projects.

Creekmoor Elementary School Art Teacher Jessie Cartwright received a grant of $150 to purchase tools for making block prints.

Digital Learning Teacher Tammy Novak received a grant of $725 to purchase digital field trips for ViPR elementary students.
Timber Creek Elementary School Second Grade Teachers Megan Hutchin, Lynn Noirfalise, and Jennifer Milligan received a grant of $215 to purchase stylus pens for use with Chromebooks.
Ray-Pec South Middle School Library Media Specialist Brooke Urbina received a $650 grant to purchase e-books and supplies for the Uber-Read program.
Stonegate Elementary School LEAP Teacher Rebecca Huber received a grant of $332 to purchase books for students in the LEAP gifted program.
