Ray-Pec High School Sophomore Trey Doss for being nominated to participate in the annual Sophomore Pilgrimage! He is pictured here with Judy Wertz, representing General Federation of Women's Clubs of Missouri.
Each year, 250 HS Sophomores have the opportunity to observe the Missouri Legislature in session; tour the Capitol, the Governor's Mansion and the Supreme Court Building; and meet state legislators. A Certificate of Merit in Citizenship is presented to each Sophomore making the Pilgrimage.
One Sophomore from each high school in the state of Missouri is selected by the faculty to attend the Sophomore Pilgrimage.
There is no cost to the student. The event is sponsored through the GFWC. Students are selected from the top fourth of the class who exemplify high standards of honor, courage, citizenship, scholarship, leadership, and service.
(The trip this year will be a virtual tour on April 13.)
