Foundation awards about $9,500 in grants
The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol on Jan. 31, 2024, awarded $9,502 in grant awards.
The grants will be used for a variety of items, including band equipment, cookware, t-shirts, books, posters, art therapy resources, and learning tools.
Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston and Foundation Secretary/Treasurer Pam Steele, made the surprise presentations, along with Foundation Board Members Eric Collins, Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Jodi Price, Kristi Schumacher, Pam Steele, and Cathy Wansing.
Grant Award to Purchase Decodable Readers
Gina Garrison, Reading Interventionist at Bridle Ridge Elementary School, received a $740 grant to purchase decodable readers for use by students in grades K-2.

RPA Receives Grant To Purchase Wipebooks
Jon Shawver, Teacher at Ray-Pec Academy, received a $625 grant to purchase wipebooks for use by students in grades 9-12. Wipebooks are reusable whiteboard dry erase notebooks.

Grant Will Help Purchase Machine For LEAD Center
Steve Hatfield, Machining Teacher at the Ray-Pec LEAD Center, received a $750 grant to assist with the purchase of an Electric Discharge Machine. Hatfield teaches students in the Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing program.

FACS Teacher Receives Two Grants
Ray-Pec High School Family and Consumer Science Teacher Leann Hauck received two grants from the Foundation. One grant, for $310, will help pay for materials to update the FACS classroom. The other grant, for $375, is to purchase fabric to make Dresses for Africa.
